[Robyn is both of us?]
the story starts with Robyn hood traveling home from adventures across the sea... she comes home to find her father dead and her land gone so she retreats to the sherwood forest where she finds a bunch of other outlaws and she joins them....

in town Jayne Little is dressing for the day , today is the day she meets the prince. she is excited , she pulls on her soft velvet gown in a lovely scarlet rose tone and adorns herself in jewels her brother had given her, Leonidas was her only family , their parents had died when she was young, so Leo practically raised her , and because he was sheriff he had gotten it so that she was betrothed to the young prince who was just 3 years older than she , Prince Azandyr , she had heard so much about him from her brother and she was excited and hoped nothing would ruin her day...

Amara wove small intricate braids that kept her hair out of her face and merged them to the back of her head into one long braid, donning a soft simple brown dress.
There was a knock at her door and she opened it, "Father." She smiled her dark green eyes shimmering happily. Her father gave her the slightest smile, "Amara. Change into your best dress, we've been invited to be present when the sheriff presents Jayne, his sister to his highness, Prince Azandyr."
"Oh yes Father."
He closed the door and she changed into her finest dress, an emerald green with silver lacy trim.
They rode a carriage the palace and met up with Leonidas and Jayne.
A Herald walked in, "announcing Sir Guy of Gisbourne and his guest," they entered taking their place to the side.
"Now the Sheriff Leonidas of Nottingham and his Sister, Miss Jayne Little."

Leonidas patted her hand, "Don't worry my dear sweet sister, all will be taken care of." He looked to the herald, a cruel glint in his eye promised a slow and agonizing torture if he didn't fix what he'd done.
"Care to try that again my good boy?"
The boy nodded frantically, "Introducing Miss Jayne Scarlet."
Leonidas smiled, "See, no harm done." He presented her to the prince.
Prince Azandyr approached her now and sized her up and took her hand in his kissing it gently a slow smile played across his lips. "A pleasure my dear. I daresay, when your brother boasted of your beauty I was sure he was a proud brother looking to ensure his sister's safety and security. But now I see he didn't exaggerate enough, your radiance glows about you like the sun at your back. You are all welcome to join us for supper tonight. We can speak of the wedding then."

Amara smiled, but as a female she was afraid to speak lest she was chastised for speaking out of turn.
Azandyr walked up to her, "That is such a lovely tune, I do hope when we're married you play more often."
"If we may be dismissed milord, I have some affairs to attend to before we sup." Guy responded.
"Of course, of course. Please don't let me keep you." Prince Azandyr remarked.
Amara followed her father out the door, "Is there anything you'd like me to do father?"
"No. Go out and train, but change before you do."
"Yes, of course Father."

Azandyr laughed cruelly, as he dismissed them all to be alone with his future bride. "Ah yes, Robyn of Locksley. The little whore of a lady went to war with Queen Rashel to pursue the crusades. I remember our first encounter like it was yesterday."

*Some time ago*

Robyn stumbled off the boat and despite her wounded stomach that had led to her honorable discharge, she walked proudly onto the shore with a nostalgic smile. She dropped to her knees and kissed the dirt. She had been away for far too long, but now she had returned home. Robyn wept happily at her arrival, then got up once more with a soft grunt and began to walk along the path. Suddenly she heard a noise, and crept silently as she had been trained and watched closely as a young woman dressed in a pale blue tunic and brown with dirty brown hair in a messy braid argued and struggled with a couple of guards that she was only hunting small game to feed her infant son. When they asked why she wasn't at home with him letting the husband hunt, she claimed that all whom were left was her and her boy and that she had no other way of income. One of them smirked at the other, "I reckon she's a lyin' bitch."
"Aye, if you really need the money love, there are other ways to get it." He said vulgarly grabbing his crotch.
"You vile fiends! How dare you suggest as such!" She snarled, and one of them backhanded her, knocking her flat on her back. Just as one of them got on top of her and started to undo his trousers, Robyn notched an arrow and shot the man in the shoulder knocking him back, screaming in agony.
"Who goes there!? You've assaulted one of her majesty's guards! You will be hung for treason!"
Robyn stood, "I should think not! Queen Rashel would be furious if she knew you two were harassing her subjects on shooting minor game so she can feed her child."
The men exchanged glances, one holding his shoulder, "L-Lady Locksley." They knelt before her, and Robyn nodded and said, "Take your friend to a healer, he needs that looked at."
They nodded and left, and she turned to the girl. Robyn smiled, and pulled out a small drawstring purse and handed over the rest of her gold to the girl. "May I have the honor of the name of the woman I saved?"
The girl flushed, "M-Milady, this...this is too kind, I can't."
"You can and you will. You have that boy to look after."
"My name's Alanna Dale."
"Good to meet you, now go. Get some rest."
Alanna nodded and left with the money, "Thank you milady."
Robyn then left and headed off to Nottingham, her hometown. She looked around smiling then frowned as she saw a group of guards enforcing an eviction.
"What's going on here?"
Edgar of Guisbourne dismounted and turned to Robyn, "What is your bus-," he paused and straightened, "Robyn..." He stared at the young woman whom he’d known throughout his childhood. It had been ten years since he last set eyes on her.
“You’ve returned, you’re more beautiful than when you left.”
Robyn looked down uncomfortably then returned his gaze, “You seem to be well yourself. How’s Amara?”
Gisbourne nodded, “She’s well. She’s grown into a fine young lady.”
“I’d like to see her sometime. Now would you please tell me why you’re evicting one of the families under my charge?”
“They haven’t been able to pay their taxes.”
“Then let me see to this, they are my people after all. You can be excused.”
He paused, “You will have to take it up with the Sheriff. He’s with the prince as of the moment.”
“Then would you escort me to the palace Gisbourne?”
“Has it been so long that you can no longer say my name?”
“Edgar, please.” She stressed.
He paused but nodded, “Yes...of course.” He then led her to the palace and introduced her before standing at the back as she continued on. Prince Azandyr stood with Sheriff Leonidas.
“Lady Locksley, welcome back.” Azandyr smiled cocking his head lightly with a lusty cruel smile. “I take it the crusades went...well?”
“They did, they are. The queen bid me an honorable discharge. I have returned to look over my people once more.”
“Then what business do you have here?”
“Taxes. The miller family have always been able to pay for their taxes on time. Why is it that they can’t pay now and are being evicted?”
“Well the taxes have been raised to aid our beloved queen, my sweet sister, Queen Rashel.”
“If the queen knew what was going on she’d be furious.” Robyn insisted.
“I’m sure given the circumstances, she’d understand.” The queen’s little brother assured her.
“We’ll see. I’ll send a raven asking for her validation.”
“Of course, you are my sister’s favorite former lady-in-waiting.” Azandyr smirked, “I plan on hosting a ball for you return tomorrow night, you will be there, will you not?”
She pursed her lips, “I’m sure you will insist even if I declined.”
“Such a clever bird...see you tomorrow night.” He grinned and Robyn turned on her heel and stormed out.
Gisbourne hurried after her and grabbed her arm, “Times have been hard, but your peasants have endured it.”
“They were our people Gisbourne! My mother may have reigned lady, but those people who now have children to look after, they were our playmates! Your father sold them their food and materials they needed to get by. How dare you turn your back on them. Merrant’s father would’ve never let this happen. You have the power to help, why haven’t you?”
Gisbourne’s gaze faltered, “We could help them together, if we were wed. I’m a man of some authority, but you’re a lady of power. Please reconsider the offer I made you.”
“That was ten years ago Edgar, and my love for you has not evolved. You’re still just a brother too me, nothing more.”
“Come sup with me. See my daughter, just don’t be so against the thought of us married yet.”
Robyn closed her eyes and sighed, and held his face, “Edgar, you were one of my dearest friends. Don’t make this hard for us.” She kissed his forehead, “I will sup with you however.” She followed him and when they came to his home they entered smelling the aromas of supper.
“Father! Welcome ho-,” Amara had turned and ran to greet her father, but stopped short, when she saw the woman. “L-Lady Robyn?” She whispered. Amara had blurry memories of the young lady before she had left, but the blurry memories were strong. Amara’s eyes watered and she ran to Robyn and Robyn laughed happily as she hugged Amara back.
“You’ve grown up so much Amara.”
Amara laughed as she hugged her back, “Oh, oh just sit down and-and I’ll fix you a plate!” She said excitedly and went about setting up a place for the three of them.
Robyn set aside her qualms and ate with them, talking with them catching up on all the news as of the last decade. Then she was escorted home by Edgar. “I hope you enjoyed tonight.”
“I did...thank you for your hospitality.” Robyn nodded, and Guy leaned forward, hesitated and then kissed her cheek. “Have a good night.”
“You as well Edgar.”
Robyn and Edgar went their separate ways, and that night, she snuck out and gave the miller family the difference they couldn’t pay for their eviction, as well as extra to feed themselves, leaving it in a little pouch outside their door, for them to find. Then she returned home and to her bed.
The following day she was out and about in Nottingham when she came across the millers being taken into custody. Edgar and the Sheriff, turned to her, Edgar dropped his gaze. Robyn clenched her draw, her fists clenching for a moment, “Gisborne...Sheriff, what’s going on here?”
“Fill her in Gisbourne, I’m returning to the palace. Oh, and don’t forget, you’re daughter is in the field training. We don’t need her complaining to me that her father’s late for your noon meal. Tata now.” He rode off, and issued that the guards take the family to the dungeons.
“What is going on Gisbourne?” She bit out angrily.
“Gisbourne again?”
“I should’ve known...I thought if I spent some time with you, you’d remember what family was about. Clearly I was wrong.” She rode off as he shouted after her, “Robyn wait!” She wouldn’t listen though. She would end this...tonight.
She rode out for a while till she again came across Alanna Dale singing a tune on her lyre as she walked down a path.
“You, Alanna...where’s you’re son?”
Alanna looked at her with wide eyes and turned around and bolted. Robyn rolled her eyes, and swung off her horse and tackled the other girl, and put a blade to her neck. “I defended you, and this is how you repay me? I want the truth of it now.”
“O-Okay, easy does your ladyship. I-I don’t have a boy, don’t really care to have children anyhow, but I did need the food. I do have a family, of sorts that needs feeding, Don’t have a home or nothin’, just my bow, quiver, dagger and m’lyre. Please milady, don’t kill me. I’d really rather not die.”
“Fine, I won’t kill you, however, if you want me to give you this kindness, you have to do something for me.”
“Oh what?” She whined, “Fine, alright, what is it?”
“You’d bare an uncanny resemblance to me if I cleaned you up to bit.”
“Uh oh...I don’t know if I like where this is going.” Alanna moaned but Robyn took her home filling her in on the plan. Believe it or not, when she was finished Alanna could’ve been Robyn’s twin. Alanna turned her head gasping with shock, “Blimey...is...I’m not even sure who is who now.”
“Good, now Gisbourne will come to get you in a few minutes. You will stand in as me, and while you occupy his and the Sheriff’s time, I will rescue the family.”
“Alright then, what about when they find out that the prisoners have been released?”
“If all goes well, they won’t know till tomorrow.”
“And if it doesn’t? What if he realizes it’s not me?”
Robyn shrugged with a smirk, “Run. I’ll be taking them to Sherwood Forest, and then I’ll take care of them from there.”
“S-Sherwood? You sure that’s safe? There’s-there’s bandits.” Alanna said shakily.
Robyn scoffed, “What you scared of a few bandits?”
“Well...yeah?”
“I fought hundreds of thousands of soldiers in my time at war. Do not fret over a few bandits, that I can take care of.”
“If you’re sure.” Alanna shrugged uneasily.
“This will work, trust me.” Robyn insisted.
Alanna nodded, “Alright, alri-,”
A knock sounded at the door downstairs. They could hear the door being answered by one of Robyn’s servants. “That’ll be him. Go on, I’ll be there soon.” She promised.
Alanna took a deep breath and nodded and headed down.
Gisbourne waited at the door with a bouquet of flowers, he had asked Amara to wait at the castle. Alanna walked down the stairs, and Gisbourne looked at her with awe. He gave her his hand, “Robyn...you look...you look magnificent, as always.”
Alanna flushed, and smiled looked awkwardly away for a moment, “T-Thank you. A-Are those for me?” She asked lightly, and he nodded offering up the flowers. Alanna took a deep inhale, “Their beautiful...I love them, thank you, again.” She handed them off to the butler, “Put these in a vase for me please?”
The butler nodded and left with the flowers, but not before Gisbourne took one of the dethroned roses and placed it in her hair, “There.” He offered her his arm, which she took and he helped her out and into the carriage and they rode off.
Robyn left minutes later on foot in a dirty cloak to disguise herself, hunched over with a cane like a old beggar woman.

Edgar grabbed her waist and helped her down, Alanna grinned, “Thank you.” He nodded and escorted her inside and then when Amara and ALanna met up all Alanna did was nod in acknowledgement. Ugh children. Alanna thought. They were soon dancing, “You seem different tonight.” Gisbourne commented.
“Do I? Are you sure?” Alanna grinned.
“Perhaps I was wrong.” He shrugged as their hands hovered an inch away from each other. As they turned around in a circle before exchanging hands.
“Well I’m not.” Alanna laughed.
Suddenly a bell rang, and Alanna jumped, as a guard yelled, “JAILBREAK! The prisoners have escaped! After them! We need a healer in the dungeons! The prince is injured! There’s been an attack on the prince!”
“Oh...looks like the party’s done.” Alanna said, and went to run but Gisbourne caught her arm, “Tell her I love her, and I’m sorry there was nothing I could do before.”
Alanna looked at him eyes wide, “W-What?”
“You’re not Alanna. I knew she would do anything to save them, that’s why I didn’t let on that I knew you weren’t her. Now go, you have half an hour before I’m obligated to chase after you.” He said and let her go.
Alanna nodded and bolted.

Robyn slipped into the dungeons without much effort, and knocked one of the guards out and stole the keys and lead the prisoners out to a secret tunnel that lead out of the dungeons but before she could go after them, the prince came in.
“Heard there was a possibility I’d be stolen from. Had to see it for myself.” Azandyr said his grin growing, “Now, I must sadly either end your life, or let you submit to me as your punishment.”
“Then I hope you’re as good of a sword as I am.” Robyn smirked and drew her own, “Care to try your luck.”
“I do.” He drew his own and they circled before he lunged and she parried, their swords clanging, they spun and parried and he got close enough that he grabbed her bow that was strung on her back and used it against her to choke her. But Robyn swiftly bent forward clutching his arms and threw him over. She threw off her quiver, sword and cloak at him to slow him down and so she wouldn’t be weighed down as she ran. She found a horse and rode off, quickly slinging Alanna on and they flew to the forest. When they were off, they met the family at the cave that the tunnel led to, and slapped the horse’s flank to send it home.
“Come on; let’s get away from the edge.” Robyn said and they headed further into the woods.

"No scars to show for it, but she will pay my dear. One day she will pay for making a fool out of me." Azandyr assured her. "Would you like a walk about in the dungeons?"

Amara finished her training and instead of bathing at her home, she took her clothes and went to the nearby lake and bathed there cleaning off the grime and sweat.

He kiss her hand and led her around the dungeons. "Ah here we are, the torture room. I do so love this part." He walked her into the room, "SOmetimes i tend to the torture myself, and others I allow my men to do it. One day I will have Robyn in here, and her screams..." He turned to face her fully, "My dear, the day I capture her, then we will wed and we will dance to her screams. Would you like that?"

Amara was singing when suddenly a twig snapped and she shut up, "H-Hello?" She called out. Then she saw it, a shadow at the edge of the forest that shouldn't be there. Amara stiffened and sunk lower, what could she do? SHe couldn't get out if it was a man, but why would a woman be there? Unless it was Robyn. Still that meant it was unsafe for her where she was. She had left her weapons on the shore with her clothes. She could swim to them swiftly, yet get dressed and wield the sword? Hardly likely before the person came to fight her. SHe waited and watched for the mysterious person to make a move.
Suddenly, the person was gone. Amara swallowed in a deep breath and relaxed. But she allowed herself only that moment before hurriedly swimming back to shore, dressing and ran home to meet her father. She'd keep what she saw silent for now.

"Too true. Supper then?" He asked.

Amara returned to her house and made sure her father was ready before they returned to the castle.

Not too much later, The five of them sat to eat at supper. Amara stayed silent, but secretly she wished her father would talk to her, or that she could be elsewhere. She never did feel comfortable around the sheriff or the prince. Especially since she was merely an illegitimate child.

Leonidas smiled, "So your highness, what do you think of my sweet sister Jayne?"

"She's a fine catch, and we have set a date." Prince Azandyr said taking his betrothed's hand. "We will be wed on the day we capture our old friend Robyn."

Edgar coughed, as if choking on a bite of his meal. Amara patted her father's back and offered him water. "Thank you Amara." He said after taking the drink. He looked over at the others, "How do you plan to capture Robyn?"

"Jayne and I have devised a little plan. It will take a while, but in the end, it will work out." Azandyr grinned maliciously.

Jayne smiled and nodded raising her glass "cheers to catching a traitor to the throne" she said softly glancing at her brother " are you pleased brother?" she asked quietly taking a sip of her wine , glancing to amara and edgar with a suspicious look , she leaned toward the prince to whisper " i don't think our plan should be told to them" she said softly and mock giggled as if she said something funny

Leonidas raised his wine glass, "Oh very pleased my dear. To the capture of Robyn Hood."
The prince did the same and they drink. He whispered back to Jayne as if whispering sweet nothings, "I agree love."
Amara and Edgar had done so as well, but they traded careful glances. THey would have much to discuss when they went home Amara was sure.

An hour or so later when Amara and Edgar had returned home they sat at the table in quiet contemplation.
Finally he looked up at her, "Amara...you'd do anything for me, right?"
Amara nodded, "I know how much she means to you Father. I'd do anything to help. Whatever you need."
"We have to make Robyn look like the enemy, but we have to save her. You understand that right?"
"I do. What do you need me to do? I'm at your disposal Father."
"As of the last few months, Robyn has taken to stealing from rich people. I'm going to ask the Sheriff and the Prince to secure you a husband in another city. We'll make it look like we're using you as bait to capture Robyn."
"I understand...But...what if she doesn't come?"
"She will. I know she will." He promised.
Amara wanted to cry, she didn't want to leave her Father, but she understood this was the price to be paid. So instead she nodded firmly, "As you wish."
"Good, I will explain the plan to them tomorrow."

Jayne had stayed after dinner to caht with the prince a while longer before being escorted home where she told her brother of the plan

"brother, that's the plan, you cannot make me stay home i will be okay " she called from behind her bedroom door as her brother had found the plan to risky " i will sneak out of here!!" she called banging on the door .. after no answer she went to her mirror grabbed a small dagger and took the end of her hair and cut it so that it was much shorter [ like in picture] and she tossed on her earthy colored garb and painted her face with some tribal lines , grabbing her flute she shook her head " for king and country brother" she whispered kicking open her window , she looked down to the ground that was a good few feet below [two story building] and crawling out of it she carefully climbed down landing softly on the ground below before taking off into the forest

*Previously*

They soon found a clearing, and the mother rocked her baby trying to quiet him. The young girl whimpered with fear as she clung to her father.
“We’ll rest here till morning, then we’ll get you to another town.” Robyn assured them.
“I knew we could count on you.” The father said with a smile.
“Well now you can’t say I didn’t return the payment for being saved from drowning in that lake.” Robyn grinned.
“I do regret forcing you to take that dare.” He laughed.
“Sorry to interrupt, but we aren’t going to be going very far.” Alanna said.
Robyn looked around and saw that there were torches held by few and others with arrows notched ready with true aim. “Oh dear, seems we’ve got company. How neglectful of me not to notice.” She said with a thin smile.
"There's that...and there's this." ALanna said turning her weapon on Robyn, "I really didn't want to come here with you. Welcome to the home of the Sherwood bandits. Fortunately for the family we can let them live. You however, we'll have to either kill you or ransom you."
"You've got to be jesting me." Robyn exclaimed exasperated, but laughed, "Well I'll give you this, I didn't see this one coming."
"In the morning, we'll decide what to do with you." She gestured to a couple of others, "Tie her up."

The following morning, Robyn was presented to Alanna. "Time to die or be sold off."
"I saved your life and this is how you repay me?"
"I'm a bandit." SHe shrugged, "Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful, but you can't really stick around. Or we'll be killed for sure for harboring a fugitive like yourself. The Miller's though, they are being set free."
"I could be an asset. Give me a chance to become one of you."
Alanna paused, "Fine. If you pass our tests, you may become one of us. But if you don't we'll ransom you off. If they don't take the ransom...we'll just kill you."
"Alright." Robyn agreed.

The first test was a quarterstaff battle with Muna, the baker's daughter. (Much's counterpart) To which Robyn bested Muna. Then Robyn was faced with another racing the person, and proving to be the fastest. Then at last, RObyn and Alanna were put into a bow and arrow challenge which led to Robyn's victory with flying colors.
"I must admit, I definitely didn't see that coming." Alanna grinned and they grasped forearms. "Welcome to the band."

After a few months of intercepting rich people and giving the money to the poor, Robyn became the leader. Robyn Hood and her band of merry friends. Man and women alike.

*Present*

Robyn and her band were in watch out when they saw a woman running into the forest. Robyn sent Alanna to approach her, acting as Robyn.
"'Ello, welcome to my forest, can I be of service?" Alanna smirked as she aimed an arrow at the newcomer.
