her mother was betrothed to a human lord but she was in love with a young elven apprentice , before her wedding night she and the apprentice spent the night together, 9 months later argwyn was born , Lord Mcgee thought till Argwyn was 10 that she was his child but after his second daughter was born looking more human he knew Argwyn wasnt his and had his wife killed telling the young girls that their mother had left and was mauled by a beast and killed , as argwyn grew she looked more and more like her mother and one day after she found out about what really happned to her mother and whom her father really was she decided to run away to find her true father only to be chased by a dragon for a year

Keigra never knew her mother, she had left shortly after her daughter was born. Her father had loved her mother, but he had become a drunk and she fell out of love with him. With that, she left. She grew up helping her father with the tavern, becoming a tavern wench. Which of course made her tough and no nonsense with men, type of woman. By her sixteenth birthday her father was beginning to grow irksome that she hadn't tried to flirt with some of the men, and find a suitor. And after her sixteenth year, she had grown to be a spinster, and for the last two years he started nagging her to marry someone. But on her eighteenth year her father told her that a noble man had seen her in town and wished to make her his bride, and would come in six months on her nineteenth birthday to make her his wife. So the day before her nineteenth birthday, she left home, hoping to avoid the arranged marriage her father had helped fix up.

after a year of running Argwyn realized her birthday was tomorrow she decided to hide in a forest and hunt a good dinner as a treat for herself she pulled out a dagger she had stolen a few months back and crouched low, little did she know she was in the prince's personal hunting forest , she continued to hunt for a while till she heard the familiar low growl of the dragon that had been on her trail since she left home to find her true father whom she had learned by some unknown reason that he was a powerful sorcerer now

Father approached Keigra, "Keigra, fortune be upon us. A noble saw you in the market today, and he has asked me to let him make you his wife! In six months on your nineteenth birthday, he will come to take you as his bride!"

"You've set up an arranged marriage!?" Keigra yelled in despair.

"You've been chaste in the tavern, what other choice do I have? You need to settle down, let a man make an honest woman out of you."

"Like you made an honest woman out of my mom?" Keigra growled.

He scowled, "Now you listen here lass, you will marry him him when he comes then, and you will not fuss. You had your chance and you waited too long. Now you must pay the consequences."

"Well we shall see." Keigra said coldly, before leaving her room to tend to the occupants of the tavern.

*Night before her birthday*

Keigra had just been relieved of her duty and went to her room. She closed and silently locked the door, then rushed to throw a cloak around her, hitching up her skirts and tying on tight her dark grey boots, before jumping out her window and taking off, out of the city that was on the outskirts of Prince Raoul's kingdom. The entire night, she ran, heading to the forest. Not knowing she would soon face her already predestined fate.

Argwyn cursed to herself and dove for cover in a bush as the dragon flew above

a few yards away the prince was out on he weekly hunt and saw the dragon aboveand looked to his friend erik " theres a dragon in my forest, think we can talk to it or kill it possibly , maybe its lunch got away" he laughed

"Talk first, dragons are fairly reasonable to an extent." Erik said, "But of course we must be fast about this, I have to meet up with my betrothed today. She is such a radiant creature." Erik gushed, "Ivory skin and white and red hair that tumbles around her and she has this attitude that makes any man desire to conquer her because she is so defiant against men. She is a goddess all her own."

When she had reached the forest a few hours after midnight, she hid herself up in a tree, her staff hidden above her wedged between to branches. She was awoken the next morning by the roar of a dragon. Keigra froze herself and waited to see what exactly would happen, and why she had been so rudely awakened.

argwyn heard people nearby and sighed and emerged from the bush " hey that dragon is relentless , i wouldnt try talking to it"



raoul raised an eyebrow and looked at the girl in from of him and erik "" and why are you and this dragon in my forest i mean come on its my forest"

"Whoa, what's a lovely young maiden like you doing out here? Is this dragon after you?" Erik asked, then turned to Raoul, "She's gorgeous."

'Arrogant prince, and his foolish companion, how predictable'. Keigra thought to herself watching them.

THe roar of the dragon shook the area bad enough that Keigra was thrown off the branch, but caught her staff that was wedged, still casually camouflaged in the tree.

The dragon flapped it's wings dropping to the ground, letting out an ear splitting screech, "You're mine!" He roared at Argwyn.

Eric drew his sword, "Don't worry fair maiden! Prince Raoul and I will defend you!"

The dragon blew fire at them and Eric jumped in front of Argwyn before Raoul could with his shield. The dragon batted him aside.

Keigra flinched but watched in silence as she had now rested in another wedge of branches, if she could find an opportunity, she would help them. But only this once since she was trying to keep a low profile.

Argwyn looked at Erik and shook her head " donnt be foolish the dragons battle iss with me, he only wants to kill m because my ffather paid him to do so so let me fight damn it" she drew her dagger and lunged at the dragon " eat this you flying bastard , and tell paps i said hello " she did some interesting flips and kicks poking the dragon in the eye


Raoul looked impressed " hey loverboy your new fasination kicks ass"

Erik rested a hand over his heart, and laughed, "Not just that, I think she stole my heart."

Dragon roared pissed off and acted as if he was flying away, but he doubled back around and blew fire, singeing off most of her hair, and extended his claws, and was about to kill her, when silently out of the shadows Keigra jumped onto the dragon's back and whacked it hard against the soft part of it's head, knocking the dragon out. Making the dragon crash land and she jumped and rolled onto the ground, her cloak staying around her so no one can identify her as a male or female.

Arrgwyn sjook her head lightly and felt her hair was gone and her eyes got big " oh mmy maker he didnt just remove my flowing manee , what a bastard ill kill him for sure stab him aall up till he bleeds" she was pissed now

the prince chuckled lightly " hair begone best ion the markeet flame of the dragon bu dum tish"

Erik laughed, "Well damn, you're full of spitfire, aren't you little maiden."

Keigra was interested that the prince was being a smart-ass. That was definitely a new one, but she needed to be on her way. She began to walk off when Erik called out, "Oy, you in the cloak, what's with barging in all of a sudden? Aren't you going to give us a chance to thank you?"

Keigra shook her head and began to walk off. Erik wouldn't take no for an answer so he ran up to her and grabbed her arm, spinning her around hard enough that her cloak's hood came off and her clothes mostly revealed. Gasping as he realized who she was, "Keigra?!"

"How do you-," She then turned white as ghost, as she realized how he could possibly know her and not know him., "You're...You're the nobleman my father was arranging me to marry!"

the prince smiled " he was right about her being pretty" he chuckled

Argwyn looked at everyone " uh hey my hair is gone and smarttass over here thinks its amusing " she ran her hand through her hair and her face changed " wait no i like it nevermind what i said "

Erik laughed, "Just a little fixing, and it would look gorgeous love." He approached her and took her hand, kissing her knuckles, "I'm Sir Erik." He was about to introduce Keigra but it seemed a little awkward about introducing a stranger of a betrothed, to another female.

"Well, now that I know who you are. I can rightfully tell you not to hold your breath, because I have no intention of marrying you." Keigra said.

"What? But why?"

"I'm not going to fall in love, much less start a family. Love is a rotten thing that is an illusion. There is no love to be found, and if there is, it only plays around the couple for a time before dancing off after having it's fun. I'm not going through that." She didn't spill why her mother had left, but she didn't she needed to. After all what was the point? "I am looking for my mother, the only sensible person I know, though I never knew her. There's hope that she might house me, and if that's not possible, I will find lodgings on my own."

Argwyn looked at the girl " funny im looking for my real father , he is a elvish sorcerer " she said still running her hands through her now short hair

the prince raised his eyebrow " you mean magi Eldon, he is not a nice looking guy"

Kiegra nodded, "My father is Redgor, owner of the Black Valley Tavern. He's a drunk and a bad man. He made my mother leave." She figured why not now, it's not like it mattered in the first place.

"Well with you girls both heading out in search of your father, you'll need protection. So I think if Prince Raoul agrees, we can escort you two ladies on your escapade until you've found what you're after, aye Raoul?" He said turning to his friend.

The dragon stirred, growling with pain.

"Well, the dragon's waking up so I'm leaving, and I'm not staying to help this time." Keigra said.

argwyn glared " hey. Who every asked for your help anyway it was nt your fight to begin with "


Raoul chuckled lightly " well we best get out of here" he turned to Erik " I'll send the gaurds out after the big guy"

Erik nodded with a grin, "Sounds like a plan."

Keigra scowled, "Had it not been for me, you would've been roasting on a spit, princess."

Erik then raised his hands, "Hey, hey let's not get carried away here. We all need to take a deep breath and run, before we're all roasting on a spit, let alone the dragon's acid ridden stomach."

"No need to tell me, I'm gone." Keigra said with an almost noticeable growl, before heading off.

"Hey wait, where are you going?"

"Like I said, to find my mother."

"And you think heading to the palace is the best way to find her? Or rather do you know where she is?"

Keigra said nothing, having not an answer that she could reply with. She didn't know where her mother was, or how to find her. She had hoped that the city might provide her with some information.

AArgwyn grumbled " not a princess, a warrior" she picked up her dagger and grabbed a bag from the bushes " if im going to have company then fine just listen to me yeah your a prince and all but this is my quest im in charge is that understood"

the prince looked at her and smile " sure thing warrior princess"

Erik nodded, "I'm fine with that."

Keigra started to leave again, but Erik looked at her, you're not staying with us?"

Keigra looked at the persistent man, "Wasn't planning on it. I will find her, no matter what."

"Come on, no likes to be alone."

Keigra stopped for a moment, she knew he wouldn't stop until she relented and said, "Alright, I'll travel with you, but I don't take orders from anyone, not anymore."

Argwyn glared at keigra " now who is the princess " she mumbled slinging her bag over her shoulder and sprinting out of the forest " keep up if you can"

the prince laughed " well now Erik whom do you like best " he started to run after

"We'll see about that." Keigra growled, and took off after the other girl, not liking being shown up. She wasn't as fast though, constantly a few feet behind. 'Damn full elvish brat'. She grumbled inwardly, with males rushing on their horses. Of course being humans there was no way they could keep up without horses. Even with being hindered by her staff, she still made good pace.

"Well, Keigra is more of a serious woman than I took her to be...besides who can't love a woman who's independent enough to stand up for herself like the warrior princess?" Erik grinned boyishly.

the prince smiled " callling her warrior princess because i called her that, it suits her, and miss attitude Keigra , i feel like getting to know her befriending her, you know all the slow stuff" he said casually

Argwyn reached a hill and stopped waiting for the other to catch up and pulling a wine skin and taking a long drink from it

Erik grinned, "Go for it, just don't get your fingers bit off. I think when people say 'All bark and no bite', they don't apply that to her type."

Keigra reached to where Argwyn was, trying not to show that she had made an effort to keep up. Her human side hindering her. Keigra looked at the landscape, and looked at the sunset, and for a brief moment she felt homesick. The music, the smell of beer and food. The loudness, guys whistling and cat calling. Wind whipped at her hair, blowing it across to her left shoulder. She almost even missed her father calling out orders for her to come get. She briefly remembered her father teaching her to fight when she was young so she could fend for herself within the tavern when the boys got rowdy.

Argwyn smiled at Keigra and offered her a drink "wine?" she gave a kind gesture and held the wine skin out to her " its 100 year old wine from my pa's cellar" she smiled again

the prince smiled " challenge accepted friend" he kicked his heels into his horse and raced ahead.
